If any of you live in Northeast Ohio, you know how cold it
can get. Doors freezing on cars, wet hair freezing outside, lotion freezing in
the bottle: you get the story. Not having heat in your home isn't just
uncomfortable, but it’s also dangerous. The temperatures can be in the
negatives, which is unhealthy for you and your family and even cause frostbite.
Frozen pipes also can cost upwards of $1000 if they burst, which unfortunately
isn't uncommon in Ohio winters. I even had it happen once in an apartment
complex during college—during winter break, some students didn't leave their
heat on and the pipes in the entire complex burst. Now that was a mess. Nobody wants to deal with that—between the
flooding, cost, and stress, you want to avoid burst pipes at all costs. So,
when my Coleman furnace broke this past winter, I was understandably in a
panic. Not only did I have to deal with a four and six year old whining that
“it’s too cold in here,” but I also had to set up space heaters in the basement
to make sure that the pipes didn't freeze. It was a nightmare, to put it
mildly.
Luckily, one of my husband’s best friends is a furnace
repair man, and he offered to take a look at our broken Coleman furnace for
free. He told us that the electric motor was shot, and that he could replace
it, but we had to order it first. I did a quick online search, and Mobile Home
Parts store came up with the Coleman furnace part that I needed. I was able to
order and get same day shipping, so the part arrived in just one day. Our
family friend was able to install the part, and we were able to have a heated
house. I’m just thankful that none of my pipes froze and burst! If the part had
come much later, they definitely would have, because a huge cold front arrived
later in the week, with temperatures dropping into the negatives for several
days. Thanks to Mobile Home Parts Store, I just had to order the part, which
was inexpensive in itself, and then enjoy my toasty warm home. Next time a part
breaks on our Coleman furnace, my husband and I have vowed that we will order
from Mobile Home Parts Store. Their speedy service can’t be beat! And,
hopefully, the next time this happens, we can get our family friend to repair
it again for free! (:
